General Chiropody Treatment - £40

First Verruca Treatment Appointment - £38
Price includes initial assessment and diagnosis, treatment plan, and treatment using Verrutop.
Verrutop is a new type of wart treatment. Unlike Cryotherapy or other chemical treatments, Verrutop does not act by freezing or burning the tissue. Instead it denatures the viral protein and desiccates the wart tissue, which then falls off the skin, leaving intact skin underneath. Treatment is normally quick & painless.
Verrutop is supported by a large number of clinical papers and poster presentations at major conventions involving hundreds of patients with multiple warts.
More information is available in our FAQ below.
Follow-up appointments for further treatment will be charged at £28 per session.
Verruca Needling - £160
Verruca needling is a minor surgical procedure to treat verrucas under local anaesthetic.

One huge advantage of Needling Vs other treatments such as cryotherapy or acids is that needling usually only requires one treatment to resolve.

The cost of this treatment including the follow-up appointment is £160
Bio-mechanical Assessment - £48
A biomechanical assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of how a person's body moves, focusing on the interaction of muscles, joints, and bones during movement. It aims to identify any underlying issues or imbalances that may contribute to pain, injury, or poor performance. This assessment can be crucial for individuals experiencing pain or injury, in the lower back, knees, ankles and feet and those seeking to improve their overall movement efficiency.

Price includes hands-on/visual bio-mechanical assessment, diagnosis, treatment plan, and or referral.
(insoles and orthotics will be charged separately).
Diabetic Foot Assessments - £25
Also available with a general chiropody appointment for an additional £10.

A diabetic foot assessment involves a thorough examination to identify potential problems and assess the risk of future complications.
This includes checking for nerve damage (neuropathy), poor blood flow (ischaemia), ulcers, calluses, infection, and foot deformities. Regular foot checks, both by healthcare professionals and individuals, are crucial for early detection and prevention of serious issues.
We will provide a copy of this assessment for you to give your GP or Diabetic nurse.

What is Verruca needling?Verruca Needling is the treatment of Verrucas using a sterile needle, by puncturing the verruca, this exposes the viral particles directly to the fatty tissue beneath the skin where the body is rich in immune regulators. here the immune system can recognise and destroy the virus.
-
What can I expect at the appointment? At the appointment the Podiatrist will asses the areas that needs to be treated, As needling causes an immune response and this is systemic the treatment of only one verruca is all that is required. The podiatrist will decide which area is best to treat. The area will then be numbed using local anaesthetic (this is just a sharp scratch like having any injection). Once the area is numb a small sterile needle will be used to puncture the Verruca. Some bleeding will occur and this is all part of initiating the immune response. Once completed the area will be cleaned and dressed with a dry dressing. The dressing will need to be kept in place and dry for 24-48 hours. It is important to elevate the foot for the first few hours and where possible avoid any strenuous activity for a few days.
-
What will happen at my follow up appointment? At your follow up appointment, usually 4 weeks after the needling, the wound will be checked and an assessment of the area will be done to ensure things have healed.
-
How does Verrutop work? When Verrutop is applied to a wart, a chemical reaction takes place, which causes mummification of the tissue (dehydration and cellular destruction) and the wart changes colour (white/grey/yellowish). Over time, mummification leads to the spontaneous detachment of a wart.
